"These are projects I believe in"

The project

Recruited in January 2022 as Deputy Director General in charge of the Department's major social and medico-social projects, Saïd Acef was appointed director of the Public Interest Group Village Landais Alzheimer, which is piloting the experiment during its board of directors on March 29.

Saïd Acef started his career as a specialized educator for fifteen years with children and adolescents with disabilities or experiencing mental health issues, first in a child psychiatry service and then in associative organizations. He then moved on to management and project management, in particular for the construction of the first coordination network for autistic children and adults in Ile-de-France. Between two periods as Advisor to the Secretaries of State in charge of Disability, he was recruited by Michel Laforcade, then Director General of the Nouvelle-Aquitaine Regional Health Agency, as Deputy Director for Autonomy, at the headquarters of this agency.

"Following my assignments at the ARS and my experiences at the ministry, I wanted to return to concrete actions. To me, the position of director in charge of medico-social projects for the Departmental Council combines these meaningful components: setting up projects with strong social utility, in a very involving but complex environment. Also it is very rewarding to see the effects of one’s missions on the public concerned, ”he explains of his choice to join Les Landes.

5 projects are at the heart of his mission. Among them, the Village Landais Alzheimer which is entering a new stage of its development after the difficult health crisis that we have just gone through. And finally deploy its specificity while securing it. "The pandemic is partly behind us and we will now be able to work on the DNA of the project with its openness to its environment, in parallel with the evolution of the social representation of the disease as well as preparing a real cultural season in the village. Soon, the first results of the research will be known, it will then be possible to share the first indicators and propose other research dynamics."

For the Department Council, Saïd Acef is also in charge of XL Autonomie for home support for the elderly or disabled in partnership with the La Poste Group, the future creation of a "shared respite" residence, the "To each his life, to each his success" for young autists and the issue of attractiveness of professions in the medico-social (home and establishment) and social sectors in Les Landes.

“All these projects have in common their innovative character and their strong social utility. These are projects I believe in, and that happen to be in a territory where the values of solidarity and social innovation are at the heart of all the partners concerned,” concludes Saïd Acef.
