The professionals are settling

The project

After the administrators who arrived at the Dax site in January, it was on Monday March 16 that 95 new professionals, mainly from the medico-social sector, arrived to complete the teams of the Village Landais Alzheimer. After several weeks of making available to their previous establishments to fight against Covid-19, here they are back to prepare for the arrival of future Villagers.

11 nurses, 2 cooks, 83 housekeepers training Educational and Social Support (AES) or Caregivers in Gerontology (AEG) ... for several weeks, these professionals will discover this vast site of more than 5 hectares and their colleagues . These first weeks of discovery will be a time of training in the specifics of innovative care in this establishment where everyone will be asked to have their practices evaluated. All will thus be ready for the arrival of the Villagers when the current sanitary conditions allow it.

Two of them, Audric Baugard (Educational and Social Assistant and Housemaster) and Alexandra Mazier (Nurse) tell us more:

I discovered this project a few years ago and it drew my attention, especially since France is very late on this type of support. I had therefore kept the information in a corner of my I totally adhere to the philosophy of the Village: by working as a team, we will be able to adapt and question our practices. Whoever is right, the main thing is to put something in place that works for the person. I was looking forward to discovering all this dynamic of being able to listen and to move forward. Now, we are getting into the real world!

"I found the project very innovative and I wanted to be present from the start. It is really rare to be able to participate in the development of something. By working at home previously, I met a lot of people suffering Alzheimer’s disease. Today I’m very excited to explore the Village. "
