Since early November, appointments for hearing aids have started with patients outside the Alzheimer Village. The dental activity started in January and the general practitioners will be there from mid-February, pending the opening of the ophthalmology practice in early April. Some professionals will be part-time in the mutual health center, others full-time, for a new offer of care intended for Villagers as well as all the inhabitants of the Dax area.

General medicine, dental surgery, ophthalmology, hearing aids... the Mutualité française Landes offers a local response to Villagers and all the inhabitants of Grand Dax. A new step taken in the Village landais Alzheimer experimentation.
We are going gradually. Despite the health crisis, we are thus pursuing the objective of the initial project which was to have a village open to the city, so that almost everything can be found on site.

Located next to the auditorium, the new premises of 230 m² in total, benefit for the moment from direct exterior access for patients outside VLA in order to avoid too much mixing with residents due to the pandemic. But when the health situation changes “everything will be more open” specifies Ms. Lattouf, who also points to the latest generation equipment provided by la Mutualité française to health professionals on site, in particular dentists and audioprosthetists.

Proof of the usefulness of this new structure, the diaries are filling up quickly: the audioprosthetist already sees 6 to 8 patients a day, and the dentist has a ratio of 12 to 15 patients daily.
This is the 18th health establishment of the Mutualité française Landes in the department, after the various centers (multipurpose, dental, optical, hearing, etc.) distributed in Mont-de-Marsan, Villeneuve-de-Marsan, Dax and Peyrehorade, without forgetting the Covid-19 mobile vaccination.
Everywhere, the sites which receive some 20,000 patients each year, have the vocation of offering everyone, without discrimination, a local response, without exceeding fees (sector 1) and without advance payment (via third-party payment ).
